Over the next two weeks, Chairman Hann and I are hitting the ground running to ensure that we take full advantage of the voter ID opportunity this presidential primary will provide on March 5th – and we need you to join us! We will be hosting eight trainings across the state, and we want to equip and train as many volunteers as we possibly can.
This primary is a phenomenal opportunity – both from a data perspective and from an absentee ballot perspective – and we will share more about both of those opportunities in the trainings. We will also train everyone on how to use the new universes in Advantage and SwipeRed to fit this specific election, and we’ll go through the various scripts we need to use with these groups of voters.
Looking at voter ID data, it has historically been hard to get good IDs on voters in Minnesota because we do not have party registration. However, that changes now with this primary. More people turning out to vote on March 5 means we get more hard IDs… and better data.
Looking at absentee ballots and disengaged voters, this primary provides a phenomenal opportunity to re-motivate disengaged voters and to do a trial run with absentee balloting before we enter the general election. It is easy to help friends and neighbors apply for an absentee ballot, and I will be going through the applicable legalities as well.
Please remember that you do not have to attend a training in your CD… just attend the nearest one. And bring a friend! This is a great time to recruit new volunteers and re-activate those who have fallen away. Below are the dates and times of the trainings. If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected].
Thank you!
