MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – June 26, 2017 – Minnesota GOP Chair Jennifer Carnahan released the following statement about Rep. Tim Walz admitting that Obamacare is failing his constituents after he voted for it.
“Congressman Walz is completely out-of-touch with what is important to the residents in Southern Minnesota. He’s been dodging his constituents for years, refusing to hold town hall meetings. After a recent announced bid for Governor he has decided to come out of the shadows because now it is politically convenient.”
“The media and people of Minnesota need to hold Congressman Walz accountable:
- Why has Congressman Walz not once offered up a bill to fix Obamacare?
- When did Congressman Walz finally believe that the bill he voted for was “failing” his constituents?
- How long has the will of the Democratic National Committee taken precedent over his constituents in the First Congressional District?
Everyone in the state of Minnesota deserves to know why Congressman Walz decided not to listen to his constituents, before it was politically convenient for him to use to prop himself up for the 2018 Gubernatorial race. Congressman Walz has had years to offer solutions to fixing the disaster that is Obamacare, but instead he has decided to do nothing to improve it since his vote on it over seven years ago.
It’s time for Walz to retire from U.S. Congress and once and for all from politics in Minnesota.”
