MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Republican Party of Minnesota Chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan released the following statement:
“As today marks the one-year anniversary of Governor Walz’s executive control over Minnesota, we express our continued frustration and disappointment with his leadership.
“Governor Walz had an opportunity yesterday to relinquish his powers and allow the people of Minnesota to make the best decisions for their children, families and businesses; yet decided instead to still ‘control the dial.’
“In the last year, we have watched more than a million file for unemployment, hundreds of businesses shutter permanently, 4,000+ deaths in nursing homes, our children’s educations impacted and an economic and social way of life that is no longer sustainable.
“We call on Governor Walz to give up his executive powers, restore equal governance to the legislature and allow Minnesotans to do what they do best – flourish, build, thrive and grow.”
